About me

yoga enthusiast, yoga teacher, life long student

These words pretty much say it all. I discovered yoga about two years ago and completely fell in love with it. Yoga makes me stronger, both physically and mentally and makes me feel good about myself. Makes me feel at home in my own skin. I love to share about the journey I’ve embarked on and hope to inspire you on yours!

Who am I?

Hello! I’m Jantine and I’m – pfew- 31 years old. How times flies when you’re having fun right? I grew up in the Netherlands in a family of four (a have an awesome brother) and now live in the vibrant city of Rotterdam with my two Siamese cats. My boyfriend is Swiss, so I spend a lot of my time in the beautiful country of Switzerland as well.

Yoga and me

As said, I started practicing yoga about two years ago. I needed something to make me feel stronger and more connected to myself. I needed to find myself again. And then I discovered yoga.

I started taking classes at Yogaground in Rotterdam and after a couple of months I was lucky enough to do a Vinyasa yoga teacher training at De Nieuwe Yogaschool Amsterdam through my work. What a gift! After having completed the training in April 2019, I am now part of the Yoga Netwerk Defensie and teach yoga at military bases in the Netherlands.

What do I do?

I’ve studied both criminology and law and now work as a military lawyer for the Dutch Armed Forces. That’s right, a uniform saves a lot of time choosing your outfit in the morning. I started this job right after university in 2015 and I really enjoy it. Not only has it taken me to many places, it has also become an important part of who I am.

What are my plans?

I want to improve my teaching skills and learn more about the human body, yoga philosophy and the various yoga styles. I would love to teach more – also outside of the army – and possibly host yoga retreats in the future. I want to introduce as many people as I can to the benefits of yoga and simply share my enthusiasm for it. Yoga can really make a huge difference in how you feel about yourself and how you feel in general and I believe that is a gift that needs sharing.
