Hi! I am Jantine. I am a traveler. I am an explorer. I am a cook and food enthusiast. I am a daughter, sister, girl friend, friend and colleague. I am Dutch. I am a lawyer. I am in the army. I am someone who loves to work out and enjoys a challenge. I am insecure. I am getting to know and be myself more and more every day. I love beautiful clothes and handbags, yet I also want to protect our oceans, to preserve nature and contribute to a better world. I want to inspire and be inspired. And I want to learn.

Now that you have an idea of all that I am, you’ve probably also figured out that there is a lot going on within me. My entire life I have struggled to find a way to have all of this co-exist and that hasn’t been easy. Though I love not having one thing or one side of me define who I am, it’s sometimes hard just to be that all that I am. Quite existential stuff, I know, but it is the kind of stuff you think about when your twenties come to an end and your friends start getting married, have children and switch careers.

At the age of 30 I finally feel like I’ve found a way to express all that lives within me and that way is yoga. Yoga has given me both the physical and mental challenge I needed and something I can work with for life. It has already allowed me to visit and really experience some of the most beautiful places on earth and has calmed my mind in ways I never thought possible. Yoga has given me a sense of direction without having to choose between all I feel passionate about. Simply put: I love yoga!

I’ve been practicing yoga for about a year now and it has become a very important part of my life and daily routine. So much so, that I have started a Vinyasa yoga teacher training at the New Yoga School Amsterdam in October 2018.

By letting you in on my (probably life long) journey and sharing my discoveries, I hope I can make yoga not only accessible to as many people as possible, but also create a platform for sharing about yoga related topics like books on yoga or yoga philosophy, alignment in asanas, anatomy and physiology issues, yoga retreats and yoga studios all over the world! And since yoga can be practiced anywhere around the world, I’ll combine my love for traveling with my love for (teaching) yoga. In ‘Around the world in 40 asana’s’ I’ll discuss all the specifics of 40 yoga poses that are part of the primary series of Ashtanga Yoga and share about the place I practice them in. So capturing the best of both.

I hope NAMASTE YOUR WAY will become your go to platform for anything yoga related and that it will inspire you along your own journey. Be it with travel stories, books, my personal frustrations you can relate to or simply the fact that I am someone just like you who loves yoga and believes it to be a friend for life.

With love,
